Welcome to AskProf. By creating an account or using AskProf, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. What AskProf is

AskProf is an educational AI assistant that answers questions and explains concepts using AI models such as Google Gemini and, optionally, OpenAI. AskProf is meant to support learning, not to replace independent thought, teachers, or the academic integrity policies set by your school.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You need an account to use AskProf's chat features. If you are a minor, you should only use AskProf with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or teacher, in line with your school's policies. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity on your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

3. Acceptable use

When using AskProf, you agree not to:

• Use AskProf to cheat on exams, assignments, or assessments in ways that violate your school's academic integrity policy.
• Try to bypass safety guidelines, for example by asking AskProf for instructions related to weapons, hacking, fraud, drug manufacturing, or other dangerous or illegal activity.
• Upload or submit content that is unlawful, abusive, or violates the rights of others.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to AskProf or its underlying systems.
• Share your account with others or misrepresent your identity.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. AI generated content

AskProf's answers are generated by AI models and may sometimes be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect, even on topics that seem straightforward. Always check important facts independently, especially before relying on them for exams, assignments, or decisions that matter. AskProf is a study aid, not a substitute for your own understanding, your teachers, or authoritative sources.

5. Content moderation

Administrators of your AskProf deployment can review, flag, and remove conversations that appear to violate these terms or raise safety concerns, and may suspend accounts as a result.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the questions and messages you submit. By using AskProf, you allow us to store, process, and transmit that content as needed to provide the service, including sending it to AI providers to generate a response, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Service availability

AskProf depends on third party AI providers and infrastructure, and may occasionally be slow, unavailable, or produce errors. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error free access, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

8. Usage limits

We may apply daily limits on the number of questions you can ask, and may adjust these limits, to keep AskProf reliable and available for everyone.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

AskProf is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AskProf and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including reliance on AI generated answers.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of AskProf after changes means you accept the updated terms.
